Proven Track Records of Socially Responsible Investment

FAQ (Prize Related)

By recognising pioneering solutions that can open the sustainable future, the InnoESG Prize rewards innovators and visionaries whose achievements have furthered the global proliferation of innovative, impactful, human-centred, and inspirational sustainability solutions. These businesses can also highlight standards for those aspiring to better their own sustainability practices.

The Prize is presented by SocietyNext Foundation and co-organised by UNESCO HK Global Peace Centre, Lions Club HKIFC, Rotarian Action Group for Peace, and Wofoo Social Enterprise for promoting sustainability.

46% of institutional investors agree that the social factors of ESG improvements are the most difficult to analyse and integrate. Therefore, we are partnering with international service organisations and regional social enterprises to promote the social aspect of ESG through the InnoESG Prize and other building blocks.

We believe all problems, even poverty, gender equality, and clean water, are solvable. This means believing that the people who face those problems every day are the ones who hold the key to their answer.

The InnoESG Prize encourages people to get out of the office and into the external community to deeply understand those they’re looking to serve, to generate ideas, and to create innovative new solutions rooted in people’s actual needs and then create positive and measurable impact for sustainable future.

Driving ESG initiatives with positive social impact is not easy. To become a fully aligned ESG-based company, a business will have to work through 5 stages – 1) increasing key stakeholders’ awareness of ESG issues; 2) complying with ESG regulations and managing reputational risk; 3) increasing the efficiency of business operations through the implementation of ESG initiatives; 4) integrating ESG issues into core business strategies; and 5) achieving a strong position in driving sustainable enterprise.

The InnoESG Prize (social aspects, ESG.do) is one of the building blocks of the Sustain.do Together Program (an independent and adaptive platform). The other building blocks include the SDG World Records (proven track records of socially responsible investment, SDG.do), DesignThinking Global Communities (external deep engagement through sustainability innovation, DT.do), and partnership ecosystem with other environmental/governance experts. This alignment means SDG World Records can be converted into ESG recognition as well as counting towards the InnoESG Prize as an ongoing basis of contribution to the sustainable future.

The holistic building blocks can support different organisations’ stages to adapt ESG, transform ESG into SDG and create positive impact for sustainable future. Consequently, it turns challenges into business opportunities that serve a triple bottom line of profits, society and the environment. It also helps both organisations and investors to identify ESG alignment with Socially Responsible Investment.

No matter your business model, from traditional to digital, transaction to subscription, or single sector to multi-sector, organisations who are striving to create sustainable prosperity cannot survive without a solid business environment.

In the era of sustainability, if you cannot renew your enterprise, it cannot live on its fat (original capital) to last. Non-sustainable enterprises will see their business value depreciate at speed. It will become a sunset enterprise, like plastic bags, or straws.

The ESG ecosystem is a strong support for your sustainable enterprise transformation. It is driven by Generation Z consumers (largest market in the world), businesses (sustainability supply chain alignment) and enterprises within the capital market (ESG investing) like UBS, Citi, PwC, Johnson & Johnson, Pfizer, Manulife, Swarovski, Nike, Unilever, and Nestle. It turns challenges into business opportunities that serve a triple bottom line of profits, society and the environment. So do you transform, or do you not transform?
